The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center Department of Radiation Oncology is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the 6th Annual Radiobiology and Physics Review Course this year. The Course is now CME accredited and has been scheduled for May 28, 2009 - May 31, 2009. The Course will be located on the Ground Floor Conference Room, G310, University of Maryland School of Dentistry. It is located at 650 West Baltimore Street, on the corner of West Baltimore and Arch Streets in Downtown Baltimore. For the Radiobiology portion of the program, the target audience includes radiation oncology physicians preparing for recertification exams as well as residents preparing for board exams. As a result of attending this program, participants will have an overview of current concepts in radiation biology, be provided an update of changes that may impact radiation therapy, gain an understanding of molecular biology principles and techniques, and learn about new radiation modalities being utilized or in development. For the Physics portion of the program, the audience is primarily targeted to radiation oncology physicians preparing for recertification exams as well as residents preparing for their ABR certification exam. This one and a half day physics segment is intended to provide a comprehensive review of physics and dosimetry topics related to Radiation Oncology. It will be conducted in an interactive workshop format with lectures and questions and answer sessions. Any dosimetrist who wishes to benefit from such a review course may also participate.
